At Ultimate Recreation, we love creating spaces that enhance communities, and our recent project for an apartment complex in Raleigh, NC, was no exception. This dog park was a much-needed addition, offering a dedicated space for residents and their furry friends to enjoy.
Why Dog Parks Are a Must for Apartment Complexes
The pet industry continues to grow year after year, and dog parks are quickly becoming a key amenity for apartment complexes. They provide a safe, convenient space for dogs to play, exercise, and socialize—adding immense value to any residential community.
Designing the Perfect Dog Park
For this project, we provided:
Artificial pet turf: Durable and low-maintenance, perfect for a clean and comfortable play area.
Dog waste stations: Convenient stations to help keep the space tidy and enjoyable for everyone.
Benches: Comfortable seating for residents to relax while their dogs play.
Custom fire hydrants: These bright red hydrants, made specifically for dog parks, are a playful touch that dogs love to utilize.
Additional Turf Areas Across the Property
In addition to the dog park, we added several turf areas around the property for dogs to relieve themselves. Each area was outfitted with the same red fire hydrants, providing comfort for dogs and convenience for their owners.
Our Recommendation: Separate Areas for Small and Large Dogs
Although this space didn’t include it, we typically recommend creating separate areas for small and large dogs in dog parks. This greatly reduces the risk of dog fights and anxiety, creating a safer and more comfortable environment for both dogs and their owners.
A Space That Strengthens Community
The completed dog park and turf areas have transformed the apartment complex into a more pet-friendly environment, enhancing the experience for residents and their furry companions. This project demonstrates how a well-designed dog park can bring added value to any residential property.
